About Sandy

Sandy Uffelman is a Chicago native and mom of three. After marrying her husband 25 years ago, she’s moved all over the world. Her Pilates journey started in 2008 while living in London. She was experiencing severe neck and back pain due to poor posture and a past car accident. Months of two weekly sessions with a Physio there gave little to no relief. She then discovered pilates at a local studio and started private weekly sessions with an instructor. Amazed at how much better she felt, she decided to pursue her own training.

She’s trained in London, Singapore and Houston with Stott Pilates and is a certified instructor. She also has comprehensive classical Pilates training through Pure Body and is certified in Injuries and Special Populations. She is passionate about her work and always seeking more training and keeping current.

She loves teaching her clients one-on-one and really tailoring their workouts to their exact needs. Benefits she has seen with her clients include more flexibility, stronger, leaner bodies, more positive attitude, better posture and less back, hip and knee pain. Having rheumatoid arthritis, she has found it’s the one form of exercise that doesn’t aggravate her joints but makes them feel better.

Pilates has dramatically improved Sandy’s body in how it feels, looks, and her whole outlook on life and she wants to bring that to her clients as well.

  • "Whilst Sandy was living in Singapore I went to see her once to twice a week for about a year till she moved back to the US. I wanted to focus on my core and had some lower back pains. After about a month my core strengthened and my lower back pain was gone. Sandy is great teacher and is very attentive to details. Unfortunately I have not been able to find the same caliber teacher as her here. Hopefully she will come back to Singapore one day.

  • "Once Sandy and I began working together, she has taken my strength and ability to a new level. She takes the time to explain how each exercise works the various muscle groups together, which helps me to concentrate more on the detail components of the exercise. I have noticed amazing results in my focus areas (arms, thighs, glutes) and know it is all attributable to Sandy's training and instruction."

  • "Sandy is a passionate pilates instructor and this has made a huge difference to my physical wellbeing... It didn't take Sandy long to identify that the muscles around the scapula weren't engaging and the smaller muscles in the forearm and neck, in my case were basically picking up the slack...Sandy is very knowledgeable, professional, kind and genuinely interested in your wellbeing."
